Slow is fast

I recently attended a workshop by a friend, a fellow homeschool mom and trainor, and one thing that stuck in my head to make the learning of our girls more worthwhile is:  SLOW IS FAST.  I should always remember to pause when needed, to stop if necessary, and not to be pressured by what others are doing or what the education system dictates. Ultimately, I should know our children better than everybody else, their strengths and weaknesses, their learning styles and God-given intelligence.

It is a tough challenge, being the multi-tasker kind of mom that I am, juggling things to accomplish on my list, moving to and fro on a daily basis.  But I shall try.  This is going to be and has been my weakness and I have nothing and no one else but God to give me the strength and the wisdom to be able to practice this wise adage.  After all, doesn’t this also apply to life in general?  Take time to smell the flowers.  To notice the beauty around you.  To see the goodness in every person.  To smile.  To talk with family members and friends.  To call a friend and have a chat.  To play. To have fun. To laugh. To sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.  To pursue more purposeful activities than being a rat in the so-called rat race.

Slow is fast.  To enjoy our life more and say that we’ve lived a truly meaningful one, every single day. Slow is fast.

God designed you to make a difference with your life. You were created to add to life on earth, not just take from it.

Time Management Tips For Parents

I love parenting tips!  Challenge is…doing them! But reading them at the very least always gives me the chance to evaluate my own parenting style and the way I put on the many hats I have in my life.
